Roof on the Porch

We have a roof on the porch! Still to come: Jiffy seal to waterproof it, a drip edge and soffit as well as the metal roof.

Josh busted his buns getting the rafters up and getting v-groove pine placed in the gable end and across the front. Then our friend Max helped out today in the final v-groove push!

It looks fantastic (minus the piles of trash in the front yard... look past that ;).

  1. curious how you are blending the 2 opposing roof sections where the porch roof meets each of the new additions at each end. Re: the last photo there, one roof will come away from house, the other comes down from the porch peak.

    1. On the right side the addition goes smoothly into the roofline of the porch. Josh built in the 3/4" difference when he built the porch. On the left side, where we have a gable (to prevent snow from falling on people as they enter the house) Josh built a over roof. I put a photo of that during construction on our latest post: https://nhmonroes.blogspot.com/2017/12/blog-post.html?m=1

I haven't gotten any good photos during daylight hours because of snowstorms and work! :)
